Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and find out more about our three new Strategic Leadership roles at Dacorum Borough Council.

All three of these positions are very important appointments for the Council and I look forward to working closely with the successful candidates to deliver our exciting and challenging agenda.

It’s a time of change in the organisation. We are committed to putting our customers at the heart of how we work and ensuring that we measure ourselves on the quality of outcomes that we achieve. We are making the most of our finite resources by working in the most effective ways possible and we have just commenced the development of a new commercial strategy and programme for the Council.

These new leadership roles have been created to bring strategic focus to priority areas: improving how we deliver services for our customers and engage with them; enhancing our corporate services and maximising our commercial opportunities; and embracing new ways of working to enhance our capacity and develop the full potential of those who work here. We have already appointed a Strategic Director of Place who is leading on the exciting transformation programme for our neighborhoods and town centres and he is also developing a new economic growth and inward investment strategy for Dacorum.

While each individual member of the team will have a particular portfolio of services under their direction, I am keen to hear from candidates who can bring a breadth of strategic perspective to the role and who can add value across a wide range of services. Collaboration will be central to how we work, with the emphasis on supporting staff and building capacity to bring about a step change in delivery. This requires us to think more holistically and creatively about what we do and how we do it and, for all these roles, there is a fantastic opportunity for you to expand and develop your professional experience across a wider remit.

We’re looking for positive people who can work well in partnership – who can quickly build rapport and credibility with internal and external stakeholders. Fundamentally, you should be outcome focused: keen to work collaboratively through problems and bring others with you.

The Council has engaged Solace in Business to support us in making these appointments. If any of the roles are of interest to you, I encourage you to contact them on 020 7976 3311 to discuss the opportunities further.

I wish you the best of luck in your application.
